Rock Idle 03:31
i pour a glass of wine each night when i come home press my fingers to the strings and strike a chord kick off my shoes, kick out the nerves, kick up my heart open my secret wounds and sew them into art there's artifacts and broken dishes on the floor lines on my face that crack a smile at lines i can't draw kick off my shoes, kick out the nerves, kick up my heart open in my secret wounds and sew them into art i think of all the different lives that would have been if i stayed another course to wind up where i am if i took different beds or gave back more instead either way's another means to an end so i kick off my shoes, kick out the nerves, kick up my heart open my secret wounds and sew them into art

you never take the back roads home you never take the front door to the living room you never hold my hand when i’m scared at the mall you never answer your phone you never meant to do me no harm at all you never meant to put the dress back on the stove you never meant to walk all those blocks home alone you never meant to end it like that but i’m not the one you should call tonight my words are backwards i’ve got nothing right i’m not the one for you, not anymore my days are over, burned and bored no i’m not the one you should call tonight my words are all backwards i’ve got nothing right i’m not the one for you, not anymore my days are over, burned and bored burned and bored burned and bored burned and bored

so i'm writing you again but these words won't sound the same i went to see my favorite band now everything has changed the ghosts still roam the halls but a new girl won my heart there's a map up in her loft that shows me where i'm going the city's just a patient on life support and pain pills i don't think she's gonna make it cause where i've been has faded so you'll run away again cause your songs don't sound the same you said that i'm your only friend i guess all of that has changed the ghosts still roam the halls while your coffee warms my heart there's some maps up on your walls but you don't know where you're going the city's just a patient on life support and pain pills i don't think she's gonna make it cause where i've been has faded the city's just a patient on life support and pain pills i don't think she's gonna make it cause on that map she's fading

you bought yourself a broken bike and told yourself you got a deal you told your mom you've built a life but you''re staying here until you see her you left the north so long ago the snow it should've melted off your shoes but you've got a memory haunting you you know it's something you can't prove and it makes you cold it leaves you cold it makes you cold it leaves you cold all those kids you called your friends kept up with you until you left back then you thought you were a team but now you've gone and found new meaning and they call you cold cause you don't come home but they call you cold when you do go home
9.
i moved next door but i kept the keys sometimes i go to the wrong place i panic when i don't find your warm bodies waiting there for me the more i sleep the more complete i find i feel and watching tv doesn't seem so much a waste of time as a way to slow down my speeding brain it never stops making lists of tasks to do today i'm way too slow for my speeding brain i never stop trying to get hurt so i can fall down... we made a plan to tour the world but i no longer get out of bed the age of reason is halfway gone and there's still freedom for me the more i sleep the less i need a dream to fill my days and watching tv fulfills my need to numb myself so i can find a way to slow down my speeding brain it never stops making lists of tasks to do today i'm way too slow for my speeding brain

about

Allegra Gellar Los Angeles, California

Jeremy Wilkins, Denver Bon, and GL3 were Allegra Gellar. Pez played bass from 2004-2006 and Olive played drums for a bit in 2007-2008. Dan played drums here and there. They made indie-rock, indie-folk, and folktronic music from 2003 till 2012.

In 2012 they completed their final album, The Secret Plans Of Men, and finally satisfied with what they'd done, promptly disbanded.
